This bird found me on the afternoon of July 18, 2026. I live in a rural area and it landed on my deck, it came to me when I held out my hand. It appears to have been handraised, it is very affectionate, does not like to be caged and loves to snuggle under long hair. Not banded.

FOUNDFound bird in Etobicoke July 4th
Found bird. Small banded yellow/streaked bird in the area of Scarlett/Eglinton on July 4. The bird was on the ground, only able to fly short distances, and was safely caught. It is currently indoors with food, water, and a quiet place to rest.

How do I find lost birds near me?
Tap “Show birds near me” and allow your browser to share your location. We'll list every lost and found pet bird reported within your chosen radius, closest first. You can also browse by province and city if you'd rather not share your location.
How far can a lost bird actually travel?
Most escaped pet birds make one panicked flight and land high within a few hundred metres, then drift further over the following days. Small birds like budgies often stay within a kilometre or two at first; larger parrots are strong fliers and can cover several kilometres a day. Search close first, then widen — which is exactly what the radius control here is for.
I found a bird near me — what should I do?
Get it somewhere warm, quiet and safe with water and seed, check for a leg band, and post a found report so the owner can reach you. Check the lost listings in your area first — the owner may already have posted. If it's a native wild bird rather than an escaped pet, it needs a licensed wildlife rehabilitator instead.
Do I need an account to use this?
No. Browsing, posting a lost or found bird, and reporting a sighting are all free and need no account. Your location is used in your browser to sort listings and is never stored on our servers.
