Larger parrots are athletic fliers and can travel several kilometres per day once they get their bearings. Search intensively close by in the first hours, then widen to several kilometres over the following days.
Keep it in sight, avoid chasing, and lure it down with a favourite food or its cage at dusk when birds settle. If a stranger spots it, ask them to note the exact location, time, and direction of flight rather than approaching.
Call avian and general vet clinics, pet stores, and local bird rescues within a wide radius — found parrots are often handed in there — and cross-post to local Facebook groups and Nextdoor alongside your listing here.
