How to Make a Lost Bird Flyer That Actually Works
A good flyer is still one of the most effective tools for finding a lost bird — but most flyers are too cluttered to work. A stranger glancing at a pole for two seconds needs to absorb three things instantly: that a bird is lost, what it looks like, and how to reach you. Here is how to make one that does its job.
What Every Lost Bird Flyer Needs
1. The word "REWARD" at the top (if you're offering one). Nothing pulls eyes faster. Even a modest reward dramatically increases the number of people who bother to look twice.
2. One large, clear photo. Use a sharp, well-lit photo where your bird's colours and markings are obvious. One big photo beats four small ones every time.
3. A three-word headline. "LOST PET BIRD" or "LOST COCKATIEL" — big, bold, readable from across the street.
4. The essentials only. Species and colour, the neighbourhood and date it went missing, and a phone number in large digits. Skip the paragraphs — nobody reads them.
